World champions New Zealand will look to make it a hat-trick of titles in the upcoming World Rugby Pacific Four Series which returns in 2024.
The Black Ferns were unbeaten in the first two editions of the tournament and will now be looking to extend that run in the competition which also features Canada, USA and Australia.
There is plenty on the line for the competition that runs from 27 April to 25 May, with qualification for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 and WXV 2024 both on the line.
New Zealand and Canada have already qualified for the World Cup, and will be joined by whichever of the Wallaroos or the USA finishes highest in the competition.
The top three teams in this year’s tournament will also qualify for WXV 1, the second year of World Rugby’s landmark women’s competition designed to revolutionise the women’s game.
Australia beat both France and Wales in the inaugural edition and will be looking to build on that under new coach Jo Yapp, the former England fly-half.
The competition kicks off with a one-off game in the USA between the two North American sides on 27 April.
New Zealand will host three games between 11 and 25 May, while Australia will welcome Canada and USA for the remaining two matches.
World Rugby Head of Women’s Competitions Alison Hughes said: “It’s great to see the Pacific Four Series return for a fourth year. This highly anticipated tournament provides a quality high-performance competition for the four teams competing and with WXV and Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 qualification up for grabs, it’s really all to play for.”
