All Points East final lineup announced by Uber

The artists set to close two-weekend extravaganza All Points East have been announced for the festival taking place on August 16-18 and August 23-25.

Among the final day’s line up is Matt-Felix, a soulful singer who blends modern indie rock with alternative pop.

Matt-Felix’s tendency to play with genre comes from a combination of his childhood in Bali and Anglo-French heritage.

Joining Matt-Felix on August 25 is Liverpudlian artist Luvcat, who in an interview with Far Out Magazine said: “I love a show. I don’t just want to stand up and play; I want to tell the stories.”

Luvcat’s music is inspired by her time as a magician’s assistant in Paris, helping her create a theatrical and vibrant listening experience.

The first weekend will feature a diverse range of both emerging and established artists including London-based rapper Loyle Carner who will take the stage on August 17.

Eclectic jazz quintet Ezra Collective will join Loyle Carner on the first weekend of the festival after a phenomenal year, becoming the first jazz act to win the esteemed Mercury Prize last September.

The collective has been making music for over a decade after forming in a London youth club as teenagers.

A further addition to All Points East is an official playlist curated by The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie, two newly announced headliners celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal indie rock albums ‘Give Up’ and ‘Transatlanticism’.

In collaboration with ‘In The Neighbourhood’, the local council will offer a multitude of free events at Victoria Park from August 19 to August 22 ranging from female-focused sport sessions to open air movie nights.

Mayor of Tower Hamlets Luftur Rahman said: “In the Neighbourhood also showcases Tower Hamlet’s talent, supports enterprises and provides families with a host of free events during the school summer holidays.”

The festival also has announced a sustainability initiative which will seek to fight against the poor reputation of UK festivals regarding the environment, working towards the elimination of single-use plastic as well as a commitment to 100% renewable energy.

The playlist can be found here.
