More than 100 unsigned DJs recently performed to live crowds during a three-day pop-up event in Shoreditch.
Tomorrow’s Sound, which took place between 29 February to 2 March, gave up-and-coming talent the chance to perform a 15-minute set to record labels, bookers and friends.
Organised by Pirate, the world’s largest network of music studios, the event proudly hyped the motto “tomorrow’s sound, here today” and was primarily aimed at promoting Pirate’s latest artist residency programme.
Pirate marketing manager Rachel Mason said: “Nowadays, anyone with a phone and internet has the potential to go viral.
“But at the same time, that means it is the most crowded place ever.
“That’s why, at Pirate, we’re doing everything we can to host events like this.”
According to Mason, whether the DJs want to catch the eyes of record labels and bookers or they just want to DJ for their friends, she’s happy.
After performing their sets, DJs were given a multi-angle video to use for self-promotion.
